YABAH - Young Alaskans Building Affordable Housing
Picture- Hello from YABAH.

YABAH is a job training and education program for Alaskans ages 16-24, based on a national program model called Youthbuild that effectively blends academics into the experience of building an affordable house from the ground up. YABAH participant s spend 6-9 months in the program and earn a training stipend, school credit, GEDs, and/or high school diplomas, and an AmeriCorps Education Award.

For 2009, the program is based in Sitka, Alaska and operates in partnership with the Southeast Alaska Career Center, the Baranof Island Housing Authority, and the Sitka Education Consortium.
