THE CORPS NETWORK(NASCC) SAGA is proud to be a member of The Corps Network (National Association of Service and Conservations Corps), which provides education awards for Youthbuild members through a grant from the Corporation on National and Community Service.
US FISH & WILDLIFE SERVICE Through the USF&WS Partners for Fish and Wildlife program, SAGA teams have helped to restore streams and wetlands in the Southeastern Region of Alaska. These projects have been among the most rewarding for our teams to serve on as they can see the benefit to their environment of their labors almost immediate=ly, and because Fish and Wildlife staff are so supportive and appreciative!
NATIONAL PARK SERVICE SAGA corpsmembers perform priority projects on various parks in our beautiful state, from the Klondike National Historic park in Skagway, to magnificent Denali, with Katmai and Kenai Fjords in between.
US FOREST SERVICE Our first partner in 1986 was the Juneau Ranger District in the beautiful Tongass National Forest. We are proud to continue to perform services on not only the Tongass and Admiralty National Monument, but also on the Chugach National Forest as well. Serve Alaska Youth Corps crews help maintain public use trails and facilities throughout the state by an Agreement with all of Region 10.
ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND PUBLIC WORKS The Department of Transportation has engaged Serve Alaska Youth Corps crews to enhance the safety and maintenance of Alaskan highways by performing tasks ill-suited to mechanized efforts. For several years, the support of the department has allowed SAGA to serve the needs of young people from many regions and communities throughout the state.
ALASKA STATE PARKS Our corpsmembers serve in some of the most beautiful places on earth! Each field season our ASC and SAYC teams work in several parks in the state system performing a lot of trail work and public facility enhancements.
NORTHWEST SERVICE ACADEMY NWSA is an AmeriCorps program that partners with schools, community-based organizations and government agencies to address significant environmental and educational needs in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Administered by Educational Service District 112 in Vancouver, WA. SAGA is honored to be selected as their center of operations in Alaska!
SERVE ALASKA COMMISSION The Serve Alaska Commission is the granting agency for many of our AmeriCorps funded positions that support our SAYC, YABAH, and EVC programs.
THE RASMUSON FOUNDATION The Rasmuson Foundation is providing generous support to purchase needed tools and equipment to keep our corpsmembers safe and allow them to accomplish meaningful service projects in Alaska.
CONOCOPHILLIPS ConocoPhillips has contributed to the success of our programs for many years, most recently by contributing funds to support the Young Alaskans Building Affordable Housing Program. YABAH not only provides young people with job skills, education, and training, but also creates much needed affordable housing in Juneau.
NOAA FISHERIES SERVICE(National Marine Fisheries Association) Urban Stream Restoration work is among the most visible projects that Serve Alaska Youth Corps crewmembers perform. The technical assistance and support of NOAA/NMFS and the Auke Bay Lab are greatly appreciated!
